Chad Friedman is a self-acclaimed Shopify guru and successful online entrepreneur. His course Nextlevel-ecom aims to help beginners build a successful Shopify store and master the art of Shopify. Is this true? Can Chad’s class be a beginner’s guideline for Shopify’s success? Keep reading to learn more about the young entrepreneur and his Nextlevel-ecom course.
What is Nextlevel-ecom?
Nextlevel-ecom is another dropshipping course that you can find on the ever-reliable Teachable.com platform. Curated by high-schooler Chad Friedman, the course consists of five modules with 31 videos in total. The whole program is supposedly curated to help beginner dropshippers succeed in creating an online Shopify store and getting traffic by running Facebook Ads campaigns. The course is pretty short for the price, and going along the videos, only 27 out of the entire 31 videos are helpful. Some of the modules also stop abruptly, which can be confusing for beginners. As an experienced drop shipper, I was confused, too, as most of the course information can be found for free online. Yet, some of the modules are missing this fundamental information.
For the lowest price of $178, you get access to the main course content without any support. However, if you sign up with the more expensive $1,194 package, you will get access to a mentorship package, which is essentially just Chad and his team’s email address so you can send them emails. That is hardly a mentorship, in my opinion, and there is no guarantee that these guys will ever reply to you or help you with any inquiries. With the more expensive subscription, you also get access to a custom-built store that you can use. For the price, I would suggest you to learn how to build your own Shopify store from scratch. Especially if you are serious about the business, learning to make your store from scratch will also help you determine the inside and outs of your business.
Who is Chad Friedman?
Chad is a 17-year-old high schooler that is also a successful entrepreneur with several successful stores on Shopify. He claims to be a Shopify master and thus created this course to help beginners. Alongside his Shopify stores, he also has a company called Lit Ventures INC, but there is not much information on what the company does. Chad’s social media is how he is becoming so famous. His Instagram page has over 17,000 followers, where he regularly promotes his course. He does not seem to have a YouTube channel like other online entrepreneurs so it is hard to tell how good he will be at explaining his courses. The only validation of Chad’s business successes is through his screenshots on Instagram. There is no way of further validating his accomplishments, so I guess we have to take his word for it.
Who is Nextlevel-ecom For?
Nextlevel-ecom is targeted for beginners. However, with the high price point, only beginners with big budgets can afford this course.
What is included in Nextlevel-Ecom?
Nextlevel-Ecom is designed to help you take your dropshipping course to another level. To find out how it differs from other dropshipping courses out there, let us take a look at what each module has to offer.
Topic 1 – Introduction
Chad begins the program with the general introduction and provides an overview of the framework of the whole course. Chad’s into is sufficient, and I am thankful that he did not include any unnecessary mumbo jumbo. He ends by explaining the dropshipping business as a whole and discusses the type of stores you can open.
Topic 2 – Product Research
For this module, you will learn a variety of product research strategies using different platforms. Since the boom of the dropshipping business, many platforms and tools have been released to serve dropshippers better. Social media, like Facebook and Instagram, can also be used for product research, which you will learn, including other product research apps. Chad also suggests Oberlo, a top-rated platform that you can use for free for product research.
Topic 3 – Business Plan
Having a business plan is good as it gives you an oversight of your whole business and also to helps you keep track of your goals. Although I think this module can be beneficial, especially for beginners, the module is abruptly short and might leave beginners hanging instead of learning something new.
Topic 4 – Building Your Store
Shopify is usually the preferred platform for dropshipping, as many big brands also use the platform, and they are doing very well. Many people attest to the platform’s reliability and high converting abilities that help customers get the most profits. Chad begins by explaining the steps you need to get started, such as learning different tools and getting familiar with the user interface. Then, you will learn how to import products to your store and write appealing product descriptions that will get them selling.
Along with this, Chad introduces some apps that will help your business. You will also learn how to design a logo inexpensively. Overall, the information in this module is nothing new, and it is just the necessary information you can find online.
Topic 5 – Facebook Ads
Finally, the last module is about creating and running Facebook Ads campaigns and scaling the successful ones. You will start by learning to set up a Facebook Ad account. Chad then shares some of his advertising strategies that you can learn and maybe apply to your own business. Keep in mind the same approach might not work for every company, but you can tweak it to suit your own. In this module is also where you will get extra downloadable material on his strategies. You will also learn how to check your ad performance and what to do with failing or successful campaigns. Overall, this module seems like the most extensive one so far, which is not worth the high price for the course.
Nextlevel-ecom Final Verdict
Chad Friedman’s eCommerce success can hardly be validated as there is not much information online. The absence of a YouTube channel also makes it hard to gauge whether Chad will be an excellent presenter for his course. Overall, from his Nextlevel-ecom program, I find a lot of information to be lacking, and this course is not worth the price. If you do not believe me, try doing a random Google search on one of the topics, I am sure you can find the same information online for free. And do not let me get started on the more expensive package of $1,194! How can a beginner possibly afford this? I will never know. Moreover, you are essentially paying for nothing! The mentorship you supposedly will get is just simply an email address, and that is hardly a mentorship at all.
I have gone through a lot of these dropshipping guru courses and personally, a lot of them are overpriced courses with very little information. They always try to sell you the dream or the lifestyle rather than actually selling you information. Dropshipping is not an overnight get rich quick scheme but, a lot of these gurus make it out like that. That’s why they ask for ridiculous prices for their courses. So, I personally get why you’d not trust in these courses.
Now, I still recommend a course if your either beginner or intermediate at dropshipping because it can save you a lot of money by optimizing ads and saving you lots of time. My personal favorite and favorite among many others is a course called eCom Elites by Franklin Hatchett. Now, the reason why I love this course because it’s one of the most affordable dropshipping courses out there and it has literally over 150+ videos. Franklin’s been doing dropshipping for many many years even before it was made famous by a lot of the gurus.
Make sure you read my eCom Elites Review to see how much information Franklin packed in this course and offers it at such a low price.
