I wouldn’t give this course a full-throttle recommendation. Sure, it covers some e-commerce basics and shares an inspiring success story, but the price feels hefty for what’s dished out. 

Some parts offer decent insights, yet others are light on the details, which might leave you hanging. If you’re new, you might miss having a mentor to hold your hand. Plus, if you’re looking for more than the ABCs of e-commerce, you’ll be left wanting more.

Let’s give you an insight into the course:

Module 1 – Brainstorm – Idea Generation:

This module helps you brainstorm ideas for your business. It’s a creative starting point, which is great. It encourages you to think outside the box. 

However, I didn’t think this provided anything more than what you already learn on YouTube videos and internet archives. 

So, if you already have an idea, this module won’t be useful for you at all. 

Module 2 – Administrative and Registration:

Here, you’ll learn about important legalities like tax IDs and setting up your online store. It’s essential knowledge, and I did learn a bit about taxing here. I liked how they broke things down step by step. 

However, if you’re new to this, it could feel overwhelming. There’s a lot of information to absorb and leaves you feeling intimidated at the end of the module. 

Module 3 – Product Selection:

Choosing what to sell is important and this module helps you pick the right products for your store. The strong point is that it prevents you from making mistakes. 

However, it might take some time to research and decide on your niche. Unfortunately, they fall short in guiding you with what might be good for you. 

Module 4 – Where to Purchase:

Finding products is a big deal and is no easy task. This module introduces you to places where you can get products to sell. 

The plus side is that it gives you options. But, it does not go into super deep detail for every option. 

Module 5 – Photography & Film:

Pictures drive your sales online. This module teaches you how to take good photos of your products. That’s super useful because nice photos make people want to buy. 

This is one module that you usually wouldn’t find in many other courses. 

Module 6 – Social Media:

Social media is like a magic wand for marketing. This module covers platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and more. The great thing is that it helps you reach a greater audience. 

But, if you’re new to this, it might feel a bit like learning a new language. They don’t do a great job of teaching ones who have never done social media marketing before and the course fails to touch on a few of the more advanced SMM topics. 

Module 7 – Branding:

Branding is what makes your business memorable. This module talks about aspects like making a logo and packaging. The positive thing is that it shows you how to make your business look professional. 

The course fails to mention that building a brand takes time and consistency. I was expecting the course to go in depth with topics like storytelling, positioning and possible niche-based strategies. 

Module 8 – Email Marketing:

This module explains different types of emails and how often to send them. I liked Tori’s explanation of the nuances of email marketing and how it can boost your sales. 

But, I was disappointed in the amount of effort they put into really teaching students how to craft an email that converts those clicks. They miss out on discussing tips and techniques to write up a great email. 

Module 9 – Shipping:

Shipping can be a puzzle, but this module breaks it down. It’s helpful because it guides you through the steps and helps you avoid shipping mishaps. 

But, finding the best shipping options for your unique situation might need a bit of searching. Since the module misses out on that topic, unfortunately. 

Module 10 – Website Operations:

Your online store needs a website that makes customers want to stay. And let me warn you, this topic is a pivotal one for the success of your business. 

This module talks about setting up your store and choosing a theme. The upside is that it helps you create a decent store. 

But, the topic is cut short to basics only. There was only a superficial discussion on topics like CMS, automation, inventory management or even organizing and categorizing the product pages. 

Module 11 – Finance & Analytics:

Money, data and numbers might feel like a maze. So, this module attempts to cover financial aspects and analyzes your progress. It somewhat can help you manage your business finances. 

But, if you’re not used to business numbers, it might seem a little confusing. And that had to be on the shoulders of the instructor. While this module had promising content, the delivery was disappointing. 

Module 12 – After the Sale:

Happy customers mean a happy business. This module talks about handling customer questions, returns, and more. The section failed to discuss managing tricky and difficult customer situations.

What I Didn’t Like About Ecommerce Expert Course

Why I don’t recommend the course: 

  • The course is certain to  feel overwhelming for absolute beginners due to the depth of content and the lack of important topics,
  • I disliked the lack of personalized mentorship and interaction due to the course format.
  • Some modules require seeking additional external resources for a deeper understanding.
  • Was not fond of the limited focus on advanced e-commerce strategies, potentially leaving out experienced business owners seeking advanced insights.

Final Thoughts

So, here’s the bottom line: the “E-Commerce Expert Course” isn’t exactly on my favorites list. But hey, let’s be fair – it’s got a couple of decent things going for it. 

It’s always great to be taught by an expert, and you could even be impressed by a peek into a success story or some basic ecommerce tips. 

However, here’s where it trips up: it’s not exactly a deep dive, and the lack of personalized guidance might leave you hanging. Plus, the price tag for what’s on offer? Ouch. 

Now, if you’re serious about learning the ropes without breaking the bank, eCom Elites might be your jam.
