Who is Thaddeus Strickland?

Thaddeus Strickland or Thaddy is a young entrepreneur from the USA. He is the creator of dropshipping courses, and also has a Youtube channel with the same content. (The course is the extension of his youtube channel.) He has over 35,000 subscribers and produces content on dropshipping and how you can make money online.

He is very active on Instagram (quite obvious) and goes by the handle @thaddy and has more than 43,000 followers on the social media platform. You might as well see some sponsored posts regarding his course.

What is included in the course?

This course comprises of 23 modules with a total of 92 videos. The course is available on Teachables, a reputed platform that makes possible online. If you decide to enroll for the course, this is where you will make all the transactions and access your session.

A brief overview of the content of the course is below.

Module 1: Introduction to the course

In this module, you are introduced to the course and a brief overview of what the course offers. You are also added to a private Facebook group where you can post questions and ask for assistance. In this group, you can talk to like-minded people and develop contacts.

Module 2: How Thaddy built his first store

As the name suggests, this module comprises of three videos based on how the creator himself created his first store. You will get an insight into Thaddy’s store creation methods, themes, and install the recommended widgets. 

Module 3: Programs to use

This module enlightens you on the programs you can use to acquire customers. The two programs highlighted in this module is the Facebook Ads and advertising program. You can test the efficiency of Facebook Ads to capture ideas and generate revenues. This method helps you drive sales to your store with less manual work.

Module 4: Find/Validate Products

Although you can open a store for any product, finding a product that increases your sales is beneficial for you as well the customers. This module encapsulates the same. You will learn to research a product and find a product that will help you earn money. Also, you will learn to find and import products to your store using different marketplaces like Ali Express Data and tools like Google Trends.

Module 5: Marketing your store

Now that you have found your product, the next major step you have to do is marketing. Marketing plays an essential role in building exposure for your store. This module has two videos wherein you will learn to market your product via Instagram, Instagram influencers, and make them your audience. 

Apart from using Instagram effectively, you will also learn about other promotional strategies and techniques to get your product and store in front of potential customers.

Module 6: Product touch-ups and strategies

This module comprises of two videos both on improving your product pages. The first video teaches you how to use Ali Express to create better stock images for your product.

The other video deals with the whole product cycle wherein you learn about what you can expect from a product through your store.

Module 7: Prepare to Launch

The purpose of this module is what you need to do when customers come to your store. Now that you have set up your store, you have to give what the customers want and fulfill, this module does the same. You learn to fulfill the customers’ demands, how the Instagram Funnel should look, how to price your product, and when and how you should increase the rate of the product.

Module 8-9: Important things to note

The topics covered in this module are based on how you should deal with various scenarios and how to respond to them. Let’s suppose your store isn’t fetching the required amount of sales, or you want to use influencers to attract more sales to your store. You will learn about all these in this module.

Module 10: Facebook tactics

In this module, Thaddy introduces you to his friend Noah, and the two then teach you to use Facebook advertising for your store. Firstly, you learn about the lookalike purchase tactic that helps you generate higher conversions. The next sets of three videos are around Facebook Funnel tactics and how you can set up each step to ensure you make sales by promoting on Facebook.

Module 11: Product Photos

This module describes the importance of a white background and how you can produce photos quickly under $10. More than the descriptive information, product photos can enhance your store and attract people to buy your products.

Module 12: Editing Photos, creating logos, other design aspects

Editing your photos and adding an extra definition to your photos can make them pop out and catch the viewer’s eyes. In this module, you will learn to edit photos, create your logos and aspects that will uplift your store image.

This video also consists of presets, editing your photos manually, and how Thaddy created his created logo. Towards the end, you will learn the importance of dimensions so that your images are displayed correctly and effectively.

Module 13: Payments

Now that you have created your store improved the aesthetics of your store, the last and crucial step before making your store come alive is payments. This module has two videos that discuss how you can overcome Shopify Hold payments and set up payments to customer funds faster. 

Module 14: Types of Facebook Ads

Here you will learn the different types of Facebook ads that you can use at your disposal to advertise your store and increase the sales for your store. The training provided in this module is on Facebook Pixel, Carousel Ads, Dynamic Ads, etc.

With the variety of ads out there, how can you use the right advertising platform for advertising and marketing your product holds importance. Then various strategies that you can use to attract sales to your store and ensure a positive return on investment are:-

Module 16: Bull-Rush Technique

Thaddy is a massive advocate of the bull-rush technique and is his personal favorite. The bull-rush method is used to boost sales. This module explains the bull-rush procedure, how it is used, and other features related to the same. The major pre-requisites of bull-rush technology is analyzing data.

Module 17: Scaling and Outsourcing

Scaling means that you set up a stage to support and grow your business, whereas, outsourcing means, obtaining goods from an outside supplier. This module teaches you the importance of outsourcing and why you should outsource your products. This technique helps you to scale your business and saves your time while you make more income.

You will learn about the benefits of Facebook ads and how they make self-scaling and other tasks a lot beneficial or how you can make others do the job.

Module 17: Instagram and Facebook Influencers

Instagram and Facebook, apart from the best location to share your ideas, thoughts, or your social life can prove to be extremely beneficial if used the right way. Instagram and Facebook influencers are the new agents of advertising. You can collaborate or sponsor with them and market your product. This module focuses on exploiting the influencers and also has a motivational message from a friend of Thaddy’s who claims to have earned over $45,000 in a single day using this method.

This video describes what influencers are, how you can contact them and get them to market your product and also teaches you the value of long term relationships and using the platform effectively.

Module 18-19: Utilizing Instagram Effectively

Thaddy reiterates on using the two leading social media platforms effectively and hence a separate module for the same. In this module, you will discuss whether to use automation, auto dm’s, hashtags and the social jargon you can use to attract more sales to your store. You also learn the importance of logos and how you can customize your logo.

Bonus Module

The bonus module consists of guides, pdfs, documents that will help you in the long run. Some of the materials in this module are:-

  • Desktop and mobile presets that you can use for your store

The Final Verdict

This ecommerce course does provide you with a lot of knowledge regarding the online store world, but it lacks the depth of content. There are repetitive ideas and thoughts that you will keep popping again and again. Also, this course is quite lengthy, and on paper looks great, but it would have been interesting actually to see how the course works. You only get to know about the various strategies and techniques you can use by Instagram and Facebook advertising. The course is cheaper as compared to other classes, but the order of the content of the course is a bit irregular. 

Building an online store isn’t just about going live but how well you sustain amidst other majority stores. This course does offer you a lot of information, but with a business, you never know when the tides fall against the wind. So, you must be strategic and diplomatic while you open your store.

I have gone through a lot of these dropshipping guru courses and personally, a lot of them are overpriced courses with very little information. They always try to sell you the dream or the lifestyle rather than actually selling you information. Dropshipping is not an overnight get-rich-quick scheme but, a lot of these gurus make it out like that. That’s why they ask for ridiculous prices for their courses. So, I personally get why you’d not trust these courses.
