Why Listen To My Opinion? What Makes Me An Expert

Hey I’m Joshua. I have been full time entrepreneur since 2019. When I first started dropshipping, I tried MANY different dropshipping courses.

Many of them had similar information to what you can find on youtube. I ended up wasting not just my time but, my money. (Not just course cost but, ad spend.)

Since then, it has been my mission to review these courses to ensure that this doesn’t happen to you. I have devoted over 400+ hours thoroughly researching various ecommerce courses!

What is eCom Accelerator 0-100?

eCom Accelerators are a series of drop shipping programs available online. However, today we are discussing the 0-100 program. As the name suggests, the course is a beginner’s supposed guide to building and scaling an eCommerce business from scratch to success So, 0 to 100 means from nothing to something, which is why I guess the creators chose the name. Going through the course, it is apparent that it focuses on dropshipping on the Shopify platform and using Facebook Ad and Email Marketing as strategies to drive traffic to your store. Jordan claims that this course will equip you with the knowledge, marketing strategies, and tools to be a master of Shopify dropshipping.

You will be entitled to a refund policy, but you can only see less than 35% of the course to be qualified. 35% equates to 30 videos, so this means that you can have a preview of 30 videos, and if you do not like the course, you can file for a refund.

Who is Jordan Welch?

Jordan Welch eCom Accelerator 0-100 Author

Jordan Welch started a name for himself back in 2017 when he launched his YouTube channel. He is a 20-year-old digital marketer and self-acclaimed online entrepreneur. His YouTube channel mostly contains dropshipping related material. He recently took some time off to launch digital courses like this 0-100 course. His YouTube channel is pretty impressive, with over 25,000 subscribers and almost 1 million views for his videos. Jordan’s videos are a mix of eCommerce tips and strategies from the challenges of dropshipping, to mindset hacks. Yes, he is one of those YouTubers who often give motivational ramblings. I am not attracted or moved by this kind of ‘motivational video.’ There is not much other information I could find on Jordan other than the sales page of this 0-100 course, where he shares your typical ‘rags to riches’ story. He claims that since he was from a difficult background, his class is reasonably priced to help out fellow beginners who are struggling financially. However, I do not buy this one bit because his course is not inexpensive, but rather on the high side.

Who is eCom Accelerator 0-100 For?

According to the sales page, Jordan claims that this course is supposed to help beginner dropshippers who have low budgets. However, after exploring the course further, I cannot seem to grasp how this course will benefit beginners. Firstly, the price is not a beginner’s price, and Jordan also suggests many third-party apps and tools to download. Beginners will end up paying more than they expect to spend! Nonetheless, the information Jordan provides in this 0-100 course is quite useful. If you were a beginner, you could use this course as a guide to creating a good-looking, highly optimized store. You will also learn how to use Facebook ads, which is also the only marketing strategy explained in the course.

What is included in eCom Accelerator 0-100?

With a total of 13 modules, you get 90 videos that will teach you the 0 to 100s of the dropshipping business. Let us go through the modules so that you will know more if you should sign up for the course.

Module 1 – Introduction

I would not call this first one a module on its own, but it is a two-minute introductory video where course creator Jordan begins to explain the course in its entirety. Here is where you will get an overview of the framework for the course.

Module 2 – Resources

Now, this is the module where the program begins. By resources, you get two downloadable files consisting of one, an ‘essential’ reading list. I am not sure if this reading list is ‘essential’ as it is a bunch of books that Jordan suggests you should read to frame the right business mindset. Of course, this is totally up to you whether or not to actually read the books. But for me, I would suggest focusing on kicking off your business first. Jordan claims that this is the key to being a successful entrepreneur as these books can help you overcome times of hardships or whenever you meet roadblocks that hinder your progress. The other downloadable material is a list of strategies that you can use for your business. This second material looks similar to one of Jordan’s YouTube videos.

Module 3 – The Fundamentals

Frankly, the first two modules were not that beneficial to starting a business so far. In this module, you will (finally) learn the fundamentals of the Shopify dropshipping business. Jordan starts off this module by ‘destroying common myths about dropshipping’ which are some negative things you can see online about the business. I find this section to be a little beneficial especially to beginners so that they know what negativity they should expect when going into the business. Then, Jordan moves along to discuss the business model, and also teach you about creating a business plan. Along with this module, you will learn the significant changes in the business compared to 2019, ways to play around with customer psychology, and also a video on having the ‘Elite Mindset.’ At the end of the video, you get to see Jordan creating his store.

Module 4 – Product Research

Finally, we come to an essential part of building your business. In this module, you will learn a bunch of strategies for product research, including validating products. Jordan provides a checklist that you can use as a guide when conducting your product research for your store. You will first learn to avoid products to sell, such as everyday items you can get at local stores. Then, Jordan will go through product research tools you can use. These tools also include utilizing a spy tool to search for products, searching for products on Facebook, Amazon, and eBay. Then there is a section on ‘stealing your competitor’s products.’ You should see for yourself what this means, and it is not a conventional tactic for most dropshippers. Jordan also goes through market tracking trends, his preferred product research tool of choice. I should remind you that these tools will likely incur more costs as they are not included in the program.

Module 5 – Overview of Store Design

Module 5 contains a step-by-step guide to building your store, beginning with Jordan explaining the vitality of a premium store. Premium here means high quality, which is self-explanatory. Jordan explains that everything matters from the name of the store, your Shopify plan, finding the right inspiration, and choosing the right theme using color psychology. Jordan claims that opting for the right colors can affect a buyer’s purchase as some colors are just more appealing. You also get help on creating a logo, setting up a domain, and creating social media accounts.

Additionally, Jordan again suggests several apps that you can download to optimize your store. What Jordan does not tell you is that there is an alternative to downloading third-party apps separately, and that is with a premium theme. If you pay for a premium theme, you likely will not have to spend on these apps or plugins because they are all included in the theme. Although premium themes are costly, they do guarantee high conversions. Even if you use a free theme and buy all the necessary plugins, you likely will end up spending the same amount. By using a free theme and installing and paying for these apps separately, you will be wasting money and time. Installing apps separately also causes glitches, such as affecting the loading speed of your store.

Lastly, this module ends with Jordan explaining product pricing, and how to set up a product page to boost conversions. You will also learn to configure store settings, and Jordan shows you what a good store should look like. Oberlo, a handy and reliable product import tool, is also discussed. Oberlo is excellent, and best of all, it is free to use and easy to integrate.

Module 6 – Overview of Hybrid Store

A hybrid store here means integrating all the highly functioning elements onto your store to boost conversions and success. Essentially, this section is all about store optimization using some tips that Jordan suggests. First and foremost, Jordan strongly suggests that landing pages are a great way to capture customers’ email addresses. Customer email address is vital for email marketing and for creating a strong bond with customers. So, Jordan’s suggestion might work as you capture these email addresses without sounding too pushy. Jordan suddenly goes back to talking about winning product mentality and then goes back to the main topic for this module. He shares an example of a Hybrid Store, including all the necessary pages.

Module 7 – Guide to Creating Viral Content

To create viral content is to create engaging and enticing content that will reach many views internationally. You know something is viral when you continuously see it on social media or if a parent or older adult has mentioned it. Thanks to social media, anything can go viral these days. Jordan explains by sharing a blueprint for creating ads using the Adobe Premiere software with Animoto. Again, both of these software costs money and are not included in the course. Thankfully, Jordan also shares how you can create ads for free using a slideshow, which is a more cost-effective alternative, especially for beginners. Lastly, you will learn to use attractive thumbnails to attract people to click on your products.

Module 8 – Facebook Ads 0-60

Facebook Ads seem to be Jordan’s marketing method of choice, as it is the only method offered in this 0-100 course. Although it is such an important topic, I am surprised that it only appears in this last module. 0-60 in the module title means that the first half is all about Facebook ad fundamentals, and then the 60-100 includes more advanced strategies. This segmentation is perfect for helping beginners know which ones to focus on first before moving on to advanced strategies. This 0-60 part will include setting up a business manager or ad account and getting acquainted with the interface. You will get a PDF on all Facebook Ads terminology, which is useful to help you understand terms while you go through the course. Then, you will learn how to set up ad manager columns. Jordan explains Facebook Pixel and guides you to install it. He even shares a blueprint of a good campaign so you can use that as your benchmark.

Jordan also talks about setting up dark posts, which is a branding strategy to help your ads stand out. Then, he moves on to talk about targeting, analyzing tests, retargeting, and also the deep dive testing strategy. Overall, this module has the most comprehensive information.

Module 9 – Facebook Ads 60-100

After you master the basics of Facebook Ads, Jordan talks about taking your business to the next level. Jordan shares his approach to scaling and also includes Horizontal and Vertical strategies, which are pretty standard. Vertical scaling involves spending more on ad budget, whereas the Horizontal approach means adding more people to your target audiences in your campaign. Here is also where you will learn about using lookalike audiences, manual bidding, and ways to maintain your scaling campaign. Jordan will also talk about resurrecting failed campaigns or scraping failed ones. Micro-scaling is also discussed as it gives a good return on investment (ROI)

Module 10 – Store Optimization

Store optimization here focuses more on how your store works than the way it looks. This includes technical aspects like optimizing load speed. Jordan goes through ways to set up sequences like pricing strategies such as upsells or bundles. These will help increase sales and Average Order Value (AOV).

You will also learn some ideas for keeping track of your budgets, such as your costs, expenses, and profits. Alternatively, this is also where a premium theme should take care of everything as it automatically optimizes your store’s functionalities.

Module 11 – Email Marketing

Previously in module 6, Jordan explains the importance of capturing customer email addresses. The reason to do that is for email marketing, which is covered in this module but unfortunately not as well as I thought it should be. When you have a customer’s email, you can send them updates and have more personalized communication with them. This marketing strategy has been proven to work in forming deeper relationships with existing customers and creating new ones with new customers. Jordan will teach you how to build your email list and set up email marketing for your store. This section also includes automating abandoned cart emails. Jordan also gives out templates of email chains that you can use.

Module 12 – Running Your Business

Running your business includes day to day operations. As you can imagine, there are many things you need to keep track of when running your business. Jordan explains some of these operations like managing and fulfilling orders when your company is ready to set up an LLC, keeping your finances in check, and, most importantly, keeping your customers happy.

Module 13 – Branding and Next Steps

Having a strong brand presence is vital once your business has kicked off the initial stages. Once your products are doing well, Jordan says it is vital to invest in branding by showing some branding techniques. However, the rest of the information sounds like gibberish as Jordan talks about “the future” of eCommerce, which is just his theory of how the future of dropshipping business will go.

Final Thoughts

The beginning of the programs, which are the first few modules, wasted a lot of time discussing mindset and “myths of the dropshipping business”. Although these are very good points, most people are paying to learn how to set up a dropshipping business and make money. Therefore, most of these people who sign up already have the right mindset and already should know the fundamentals. I personally feel that the first two modules and the first part of module three contain filler information to make the course look extensive. Nevertheless, moving on, the course covers a lot of ground, however, the topics seem to have no real structure. For example, in some places, Jordan mentions briefly about email marketing and suddenly jumps to an entirely different topic. Also, some of the subtopics that he introduces seem to just hang in the air as he does not offer further elaboration. If this course was targeted at beginners, they might actually be more confused at the end of the course rather than knowledgeable. Unless of course, they spend time doing their own research while going along the course.

Overall, the course material is generally quite good for beginners, if you have the budget to spend $500 on a dropshipping course. Keep in mind, you might end up spending even more if you use Jordan’s method of using a free theme and buying and installing additional apps and plugins. On the other hand, you can find all of this information for cheaper, or even for free with just some simple digging online. Then with this money, you can buy a premium theme for your store, and you will not have to worry about searching or spending on additional plugins.

I have gone through a lot of these dropshipping guru courses and personally, a lot of them are overpriced courses with very little information. They always try to sell you the dream or the lifestyle rather than actually selling you information. Dropshipping is not an overnight get-rich-quick scheme but, a lot of these gurus make it out like that. That’s why they ask for ridiculous prices for their courses. So, I personally get why you’d not trust these courses.

I have reviewed over 50+ dropshipping and eCommerce courses on my blog and by far the best course I recommend for any beginner or intermediate dropshipper is eCom Elites by Franklin Hatchett. Now, the reason why I love this course is that it’s one of the most affordable dropshipping courses out there and it has literally over 150+ videos. Franklin’s been doing dropshipping for many many years even before it was made famous by a lot of the gurus.

Now if you are still wondering whether you should try it out or not, you should read my eCom Elites Review to make an informed decision on whether or not you should get it or not.
