Marketing is over half of what makes a dropshipper successful, so you always want to learn as much as you can. In comes Adam’s blueprint, and we’re taking a look at whether or not it’ll help you make the $10,000 advertised.
At $67, it surely looks like a good deal, but it all depends on the actual content offered. That’s our objective today: taking a look at the author, course, and content to help you make a choice.
What is Dropout Academy?
It sells as the blueprint detailing the steps for you to make $10,000 for the first time using Shopify. It’s solely focused on on marketing, so there’s nothing about creating a store and running it.
It’s primarily a guide on driving traffic to your store using influencers on Instagram and Facebook Ads. Teachables hosts the course, and that’s where you access the content. Nevertheless, clicking on his Instagram ad takes you to a squeeze page from ClickFunnels where you sign up.
After paying there, you’ll take the lessons through Teachables as usual.
Who is Adam Groves?
He’s an online entrepreneur who found success with dropshipping at an early age – at least according to him. He says he’s reached his first milestone: making $500,000 monthly, and he shows this with screenshots on his Instagram ads. What we don’t get to see is how much of this is actually profits.
Instagram is also where Adam is active the most. He has nearly 14,000 followers there. His IG handle is also @tradebully, so I can only assume he also has experience trading – or at least had an interest in it. There’s nothing about this side of him, however.
As for is content, it’s usually just photos of himself and his lifestyle. He also has content to promote his course, and his bio is used to market the sales page for Dropout Academy.
It’s hard to find anything about him outside of this account, though. I couldn’t find anything about his identity and where his experience comes from or any achievements.
Who is Dropout Academy for?
The content is focused on people who want to learn how to advertise their store and products. As there’s nothing about store creation, it’s only for entrepreneurs who already have a Shopify store or who have no problems learning it by themselves.
Beginners might prefer to go for another course to learn the very basics, like actually starting their store and work on their branding.
What is included in Dropout Academy?
The course consists of 5 modules.
The first one is just an intro to welcome you to the course and what you’re going to learn, and the 2nd module works as an introduction to the strategy itself; it’s basically a module on how to set up everything for the rest of the course,
The 3rd module is where the main content starts, and it’s about using influencers to market your business through Instagram: finding, contacting, etc. The following module moves into a Facebook strategy that Adam seems to use himself, but it’s nothing really special. The 5th and final module is a template to show you how your Facebook Ads should look.
The main focus on the course is the 3rd module on how to use influencers. Besides the basics – what they are and how to find them – you also learn how to spot legitimate influencers with real audiences and engagement. There are many fakes with bots or fake accounts following them, and it’s important to spot them.
As you can see, the 3rd module is mostly the reason why you’re signing up to this course.
For Facebook, there’s a single strategy discussed, and it feels a bit like filler content. There’s the template you can replicate, but it’s far better to use it as inspiration. You learn how to test your products and a couple of scaling methods for when you have a winning ad, but it’s basic stuff.
It honestly feels incomplete or rushed, and you can see that a full course is underway if you look towards the bottom of his sales page. It seems to be a styled like a case study, and it’ll the other sections of a common course: store building, product research, and more strategies.
Dropout Academy final verdict
For the price, you’re not losing a lot of money, but that’s the problem: it shouldn’t be about how much money you could waste.
I’m not saying this course is necessarily bad, but you’d be better off saving up a bit more and going for something like eCom Elites. If you’re a beginner, it’s definitely a better option to learn everything you need. Even if you already have a store and need to advertise it, eCom Elites has dozen different platforms with different approaches for each, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
Dropout Academy Alternative
I have gone through a lot of these dropshipping guru courses and personally, a lot of them are overpriced courses with very little information. They always try to sell you the dream or the lifestyle rather than actually selling you information. Dropshipping is not an overnight get rich quick scheme but, a lot of these gurus make it out like that. That’s why they ask for ridiculous prices for their courses. So, I personally get why you’d not trust in these courses.
Now, I still recommend a course if your either beginner or intermediate at dropshipping because it can save you a lot of money by optimizing ads and saving you lots of time. My personal favorite and favorite among many others is a course called eCom Elites by Franklin Hatchett. Now, the reason why I love this course because it’s one of the most affordable dropshipping courses out there and it has literally over 150+ videos. Franklin’s been doing dropshipping for many many years even before it was made famous by a lot of the gurus.
Make sure you read my eCom Elites Review to see how much information Franklin packed in this course and offers it at such a low price.
